Let's review

rot
orange
gelb
grün
blau
violett
rosa
braun
schwarz

Got it? Good. That's the easy part. The rest of Saturday's German lesson was on declining prepositions. You know... Ich bin im Büro, but Ich gehe ins Büro. That kind of thing.

No wonder my brain is fried!

I remembered it this way: motion= accusative (walk into) and no motion = dative (stand in).

German spelling is so much easier to decipher than Czech.

Carol--I've got the wo? vs. wohin? down pretty nicely... it's just that I am having a lot of trouble with der/die/das. I first learned gender in Spanish, which was pretty straightforward (a couple of easy rules cover the majority of Spanish nouns), and most nouns in French have the same gender that they do in Spanish. But in German, it's a whole different story... and of course I haven't yet memorized the table of declensions, either!

LB--no kidding! I usually have excellent visual recall, but I had loads of trouble during my trip to Prague. Thank goodness most signs were in English!
